Midea air conditioning systems have been installed to restore cooling and heating to key areas of Sir Geoffrey Leigh Academy in Dartford, bringing a much-needed area of the school back into use.
With the existing equipment no longer operational, Mi Pro Partner REL MEP Ltd was tasked with delivering a replacement solution. Timing was a key consideration, with a limited window available to complete the work during the school summer break and minimise disruption.
The system combines eleven 7kW Solstice wall-mounted split systems, two 5kW Solstice split systems, one 12 kW cassette and two 5 kW compact cassettes connected to a twin split multi system. Local wired controllers and Wi-Fi provide straightforward smart control.
Midea’s Solstice range combines high-performance cooling and heating with intelligent technology designed to balance comfort and energy use. Its AI-driven algorithm dynamically adjusts operation in response to changing conditions to optimise temperature control and energy consumption, making it an ideal solution for spaces where temperature requirements vary throughout the day.
The ceiling cassette units complement the wall-mounted systems in areas which require an integrated ceiling solution. Their compact design allows for discreet installation, while 360° airflow helps distribute air evenly throughout the space.
Close collaboration between Midea and REL MEP’s design and construction team was essential, enabling installation to progress efficiently and achieve the required turnaround.
The project demonstrates how Midea’s wide range of air conditioning systems can be combined to meet different building requirements. Together with the expertise of REL MEP, the solution provides the academy with innovative and reliable cooling and heating.
